Portland Trail Blazers Suffer Major Injury Blow as Guard Faces Six-Month Absence
The Portland Trail Blazers have suffered a significant setback ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season as guard Shaedon Sharpe is expected to miss at least six months with a knee injury. Last result: San Antonio Spurs 114-95 Portland Trail Blazers (2026-04-29).
The injury comes at a difficult time for Sharpe, who was coming off the most productive season of his NBA career. The 23-year-old averaged 20.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.4 steals across 50 appearances during the 2025-26 campaign. Sharpe had also established himself as an important part of Portland's rotation after showing flashes of his potential since being selected seventh overall in the 2022 NBA Draft.
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Sharpe sustained a torn meniscus in his knee and is now facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
